Today, much of the land in Clear Creek Canyon has been preserved. Thousands of acres in Clear Creek Canyon have been set aside in protected open space through both public and private action. CCLC owns over 650 acres and holds conservation easements on more than 2,000 acres. Your ongoing support is critical for the survival of CCLC and protection of these lands.
Through cooperation with Jefferson County Open Space, Denver Mountain Parks, and our other Preservation Partners, we have been able to protect Clear Creek Canyon for the last 30 years.
There are forces at work today that have changed the way most people experience the canyon and that may change forever the basin’s look and ecology. Increased traffic makes it more difficult to enjoy some of the traditional recreational uses for which the canyon is known, and has increased pressure on the delicate but treasured ecosystems in Denver’s backyard.
